As you read this item, the company Empresa Hidroeléctrica San Carlos, S.A., is building a damn that will block the River Teta and reroute the River Mata Ahogado

Aside from inmense damages to the environment, the beaches, trees and animales that depend on the river to survive, this damn could cause damage to the lands bordering the sea because of lack of the sand that the river brings, and it would cause the salinization of the drinking water wells due to the sea coming into the riverbed. Plus, what rivers will provide water to the District of San Carlos during the dry season if they are both blocked by the damn?

Panamanian, you have a right to be informed about what happens in your community. Go to your San Carlos Junta Comunal and demand that you are given assurances that this private project in the Corregimiento of Guayabito, will not affect you in a negative manner. Demand the truth for your welfare and your loved ones. INFORM YOURSELF.
